Oven Tools features:

Oven Tools software for windows allows us to:

  • Reflow solder paste onto PCB's using configurable profiles

  • Cure epoxies and plastics for extended periods of time

  • Execute precision temperature profiles from spreadsheet

  • Dry components

  • Monitor multiple sensors over time

With many advanced modes to operate in, it is a versatile and useful piece of software for many different applications.


Ramp profiles:

Ramp profiles allow us to quickly and easily setup oven ramps for reflowing ROHS or lead-based solder paste on PCB's.

We can adjust the PID gains in the software and store the profiles in the controller.

We can also monitor up to 3 sensors, and switch the PID drive off of any of the three. The three sensor types can be a single K Type thermocouple and up to 2 additional 10 mV/C temp sensors (such as infrared thermocouples from Omega Engineering).

Easy to read from across the room with large high contrasting colored temperatures, and also audio voice stage starts so you know where the profile is at.






Spreadsheet Profiles:

Spreadsheet profiles can tailor the temperature profile to an exact response, such as a Kester profile.

The PID algorithm follows the spreadsheet profile using PID gains.








Dry / Cure functions:

Speeding and making stronger epoxy curing is a major goal of the cure functionality of Oven Tools.

Epoxy curing time can be decreased over curing at room temperature.

Drying components from moisture (to make stronger bonding of joints) can be accomplished using the same mode.

The Dry / Cure function can run for hours at a time, while monitoring up to 3 sensors on the scrolling data graphs.






Monitoring functions:

The monitoring functions does not drive the PID output, and thus only monitors the 3 sensors on the scrolling graphs.

This may be useful for observing a process, or trying to see variances in a temperature under an external control.
